Been drawing a lot of Blazblue OC stuff lately! Or at least, Riku's Blazblue AU.
Her story's not altered too much in blazblue. Basically she accidentally partially fused with the Veritas grimoire, a grimoire that allows the user to know the true thoughts of others. Her brother left the family to go into the military academy (taking a grimoire known as the Incendium grimoire with him), and ended up being MIA (presumed dead) under mysterious circumstances. Wanting answers, and also being pressured by her family to retrieve the lost grimoire again, she joins the military academy herself. She attempted to join with the intelligence division upon graduation, but... yeah Hazama didn't want a mind reading girl anywhere near him. She eventually managed to become part of the same Thamaturgist Squadron as Jin and Noel, albeit around the time Jin went rouge.
With all these crazy events occurring... her major going rogue, Captain Hazama's suspicious behavior, and the infamous Ragna the Bloodedge being sighted in Kagutsuchi, she decides to join in on the fray. But it's hard to tell with whom exactly her allegiance lies... and she has something she wants to say to Ragna about messing up her family's hometown of Akitsu-Ko.
I kinda wanna draw more things with BB Riku. She's pretty fun, and her RP interactions with Ragna have been 10/10 A+++ perfection.
(As for how she would fight, Riku's drive is "Ieyasu Pause" or an ability that causes her opponents and onlookers minds to be unable to interact with their body for a few moments, allowing a sneak attack. She's fast and fights with both close range melee and projectile kunai. I figure the actual use of her drive would be something akin to Kagura's, where you have to set up a stance and quickly use a move, only it's time limit is short (since after all the other player can't move during it) so you have to act extremely quickly or leave yourself vulnerable to attack. She'd probably have a "release" animation for her drive to make use of powerful moves require a lot of strategy and skill, otherwise they'd leave you open for combos. Her overdrive would extend the time limit, allowing for more complicated specials to be easier to complete while paused. Her move naming theme is the Sengoku Jidai.
So she has specials like "Revenge of Gracia" "Sunomoto Ichiya" and "The Flames of Honnouji".)
